Sporting Champions

CSW Sport, in partnership with Sporting Champions, is offering your club/event the opportunity to recieve a visit from a top class athlete. Sporting Champions is a Sport England initiative, which brings world-class athletes face-to-face with Young People to inspire and motivate them to participate in sport. 

Delivered through a programme of 450 visits annually, the scheme offers organisations the opportunity to access our nations sporting role models. With the help of the 100 world-class athletes on the scheme, we hope to encourage young people to be more active so they can live up to their potential in sport and in every other part of their lives. 

The visits themselves can be tailored to fit the needs of your community-focused organisation and allow for interaction between the Champion and Young People. They can involve coaching workshops, interactive sessions or targeted activity to promote development of school and club links, and raise awareness of the benefits to leadership and volunteering. 

A Sporting Champions visit can be used to: 

• Raise awareness of sport and the benefits of sport and physical activity 
• Engage and enthuse young people 
• Increase the profile of a variety of sports and local sports clubs 
• Improve behaviour in the local community 
• Motivate young people in their wider lives 
• Raise the profile of a particular event 

If your organisation is running an event, or its general programme of activity would allow for a visit by a world-class athlete, CSW Sport want to hear about it! The inspirational effect of these visits from top class athletes can not be overestimated. CSW Sport and partners have used these visits at a number of events including Youth Games, Day of Sport and Disability Family Fun Days and we want to hear from you if your club/event can use a visit.
