Workshops:

Coventry Solihull & Warwickshire Sport Coach Education & Club Development Programme has been designed to assist coaches and club personnel the opportunity to improve & update skills and techniques to enable them to make a positive impact on the sporting community.

The workshops Coventry Solihull & Warwickshire Sport host are heavily subsidized to enable all coaches and club personnel the opportunity to improve their skills.

A Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire Coach Education & Club Development programme is currently being organised to run from October through to April then a future programme will be published for April through October after reviewing the previous programme.

Sports coach UK Workshop Introduction:

sports coach UK workshops are intended to provide coaches with access to essential coaching information such as Good Practice and Child Protection and opportunities for continuous professional development. The workshops are divided into two series, Coaching Essentials and Develop your Coaching. Workshops (on average) last 3 hours and are intended to be an introduction to a topic area. They can be used by you to raise awareness about a new coaching topic or as an introduction to further study and practice.

Coaching Essentials:

A series of five workshops designed for people who have an interest in, or have limited experience of coaching and want to know more about what good, safe and effective coaching is. With each Coaching Essentials workshop you will receive a complimentary resource.

Develop your Coaching:

A series of twenty workshops covering a range of topics, from Equity in your Training through to Injury Prevention and Management. These workshops are for coaches who want to further develop their coaching skills and knowledge to provide high quality coaching sessions. With the majority of Develop your Coaching workshops you will receive a complimentary resource. Included within this series are ‘minimum operating standard’ workshops required by many coach employers such as:

• Good Practice and Child Protection
• Equity in Your Coaching
• Coaching Disabled Performers

The minimum age to enrol on a sports coach UK workshop is 16 for all workshops with the exception of Good Practice and Child Protection, which is 18 years (recommended).

All sports coach UK workshops are subsidised by sports coach UK and a further subsidy is provided by Coventry Solihull & Warwickshire Sport. This subsidy means that you, the coach, get coach education and continuous professional development that is as affordable as possible.
